Environmental Health & Safety Management Statement Go to fullsize image
Health, safety and environmental systems go to the heart of our business. We continue to build a positive health and safety culture (in line with the principles set out in the Health and Safety Executive’s (HSE) guidance  Successful Health and Safety Management (HSG 65; 2003) within which health and safety matters guide all aspects of the business.

From these guidelines we have formulated extensive procedures which include periodic monitoring of our working environments by qualified staff and regular health checks for our staff. Both procedures ensure that our control measures are effective.

Two members of our staff are currently studying NEBOSH Dip. While four staff have currently achieved First Aid at Work and Asbestos Awareness Training, this is in conjunction with our H&S statement and Continual Personal Development Systems (CPD).

Quality Statement Go to fullsize image
Allarb Ltd exists to provide products and services of superb quality and workmanship. To meet that challenge, we are continually testing, redefining and improving our systems. No aspect of the business, from initial enquiry through to the design, implementation and administration of the final product, escapes this process.

We are also developing our quality systems in line with BS EN ISO 9001:2000 and the principles of continual improvement. Our ISO 9001 certification is a solid foundation for compliance with other standards including ISO 18001 and the environmental standard ISO 14001.

Carbon Footprint Statement Go to fullsize image
The UK’s carbon footprint is 648 million tonnes CO2 per year (carbontrust. co.uk. 2007). Individual business can reduce their footprint through proven carbon management and by developing the lower carbon products and services that consumers will increasingly demand.

Carbon Management - The benefit to our organisation is that of an improved knowledge and awareness of how to manage and utilise our emissions.

It has also helped us to:

Understand and quantify the key risks and opportunities created by Government policies for reducing emissions
Evaluate and prioritise options for reducing emissions in order to maintain or enhance competitive position
Embed the tools, systems, processes and knowledge to enable on-going carbon reduction
Identify the actions that they can undertake to derive new sources of revenue through the trading of emission commodities
Fulfill regulatory reporting requirements effectively

Note
- Carbon Footprint has teamed up with Tree Appeal enabling you to ‘Pledge a Tree’ that will be planted & grown in the area of your choice. Tree Appeal uses the local knowledge and expertise of tree planting partners to assure the right trees are planted in the appropriate places. All trees are planted in reserves and managed woodland where they will live their natural lifespan and meet their biodiversity targets.

Each tree planted ‘offsets’ your environmental impact by ‘breathing’ in about 730 kg CO2 emissions over its lifetime. It’s estimated that the average person needs to save about 7,000kg of CO2 per year. So planting just 10 trees each year is one strategy for achieving this. The trees also provide sustainable habitat for wildlife and will enhance the natural landscape with native broad-leaved trees.
